A driver working for a private cash logistics company in Bengaluru has fled with ₹4.3 crore in cash that was meant to be deposited in the bank. The shocking incident took place in the Yeshwanthpur area on May 14 and has triggered a citywide search operation.
The accused, identified as Ravikumar Hiremath, was responsible for transporting cash collected from ISKCON temple, Nexus Mall, and Barbeque Nation outlets. While the vehicle staff were making other collections, Hiremath allegedly fled with the van carrying the cash, between 3:00 PM and 4:30 PM.
CCTV footage captured the van at multiple points in the city before it mysteriously vanished. Police suspect that the crime was pre-planned. A case has been registered, and multiple teams are investigating leads to trace the accused and recover the stolen amount.
Authorities have advised companies to conduct strict background checks on employees handling large cash transactions.
