As Delhi prepares for the 2025 elections, Union Home Minister Amit Shah is set to unveil the third and final part of the BJP’s manifesto today at 2 PM. This comes as the BJP seeks to reclaim power in Delhi after a 27-year hiatus.
Key Promises in the Manifesto
The manifesto is expected to outline several ambitious initiatives, including:
- Free bus travel for all from October to February to combat vehicular pollution.
- Water management, featuring a dam project to address the water crisis and ensure 24-hour clean water supply.
- Infrastructure overhaul, with a focus on repairing neglected roads and developing new ones to NHAI standards.
- Yamuna River cleanup, along with plans for a modernized drainage system.
Financial Aid Programs
The BJP aims to attract key demographics with financial support measures:
- ₹15,000 assistance for students preparing for competitive exams like the UPSC.
- Free education from kindergarten to post-graduation for underprivileged students.
- ₹2,500 monthly financial aid for women under the Mahila Samridhi Scheme.
- Subsidies on LPG cylinders, including one free cylinder during Holi and Diwali.
BJP’s 27-Year Struggle in Delhi
The BJP has not been in power in Delhi since 1998, with the AAP led by Arvind Kejriwal winning the last two assembly elections. The upcoming elections on February 5, with results on February 8, will be a crucial test for the BJP to re-establish itself in the capital.
