Mumbai, March 16: Mumbai Indians’ all-rounder Corbin Bosch has landed in legal trouble after the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) served him with a legal notice for allegedly breaching his contract with the Pakistan Super League (PSL). Bosch was picked by Peshawar Zalmi in the Diamond category during the PSL draft held in Lahore on January 13. However, he withdrew from the tournament to make himself available for the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025.
Bosch was roped in by Mumbai Indians (MI) as a replacement for injured South African pacer Lizaad Williams ahead of the 18th edition of the cash-rich league, which is set to begin on March 22. Despite being part of the South African squad for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, Bosch did not get a game during the tournament.
In a statement, PCB confirmed the legal action:
“The legal notice was served through his agent, and the player has been asked to justify his actions of withdrawing from his professional and contractual commitments. The PCB management has also outlined the repercussions of his departure from the league and expects his response within the stipulated time frame.”
Bosch had previously been a part of the Rajasthan Royals setup as a reserve player but is yet to make his IPL debut. His impressive performance in the SA20 league earlier this year, where he took 11 wickets in seven innings for MI Cape Town, earned him a call-up to Mumbai Indians.
The situation has created a conflict for Bosch, as the dates of the IPL 2025 and PSL 2025 are set to clash. The IPL is scheduled to take place from March 22 to May 25, while the PSL is set to begin on April 11 with the final also scheduled for May 25.
With the legal notice now served, it will be up to the MI management, BCCI, and the IPL governing council to resolve the matter and determine Bosch’s availability for the season.
