Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has announced plans to develop a grand spiritual city in Ujjain, spanning approximately 3,300 hectares. This initiative is part of the state’s extensive preparations for the Simhastha Kumbh-2028, a revered Hindu festival held every 12 years along the banks of the Shipra River. The city will serve as a dedicated hub for spiritual seekers, saints, and religious organizations, with provisions for ashrams, educational institutions, healthcare facilities, and dharamshalas. Private companies will also be encouraged to invest in its development, further enhancing its infrastructure and accessibility.
Speaking at the Madhya Pradesh Global Investors Summit (MP GIS) 2025, CM Yadav emphasized the state’s commitment to boosting spiritual and wildlife tourism. He highlighted policy reforms aimed at improving connectivity, including incentives for flights and the introduction of air ambulance services to promote medical tourism. Additionally, he underscored Madhya Pradesh’s leadership in wildlife conservation, particularly its thriving tiger and leopard populations and the successful reintroduction of cheetahs. With a focus on sustainable growth, the state is positioning itself as a premier destination for both spiritual and ecological tourism.
