Kasaragod: Purnima Pawar, a journalist, activist, and theatre artist, has been elected as the District President of Raichur for the Kannada Bhavana’s Kasaragod unit. As part of the Silver Jubilee celebrations in 2025, Kannada Bhavana plans to host Kannada-related events across all districts of Karnataka. The appointment was made by Kasaragod Kannada Bhavana Director C.Y. Menasinkayi, with approval from Vijayanagara District President Chittageri Kottreshi. Purnima Pawar will oversee initiatives including free accommodation for literary and cultural ambassadors, public reading spaces, and special events during the Silver Jubilee celebrations, expanding the district unit. This was shared in a press release by Kannada Bhavana founder-chairman Dr. Vaman Rao Beakal and coordinator Sandya Rani Teacher.
