On January 22, 2025, a horrifying train accident at Pachora Railway Station in Jalgaon, Maharashtra, claimed 12 lives and injured 40 passengers. The incident occurred when passengers aboard the Pushpak Express jumped off due to a false fire alarm, only to be hit by the passing Karnataka Express on an adjacent track.

Preliminary investigations suggest the panic was triggered by smoke caused by a hot axle or brake binding in the Pushpak Express. Emergency chains were pulled, leading to chaos. Rescue operations are underway, with victims being transported to nearby hospitals.
